IBC Tank Testing: Tips and Techniques

The IBC tank is a standardized and exportable neutral bulk container. It adopts a hollow blow-molded liner made of food-grade HDPE polyethylene and a metal frame formed by cold-bending galvanized steel pipes. It has high strength and good chemical resistance, and can hold up to 1.7 liquid can save about 35% of the stacking space. The bottom load-bearing pallet is convenient for forklift loading and unloading. The size of the transportation is specially designed for container transportation. It is suitable for export and various container transportation, and is widely used in various liquid packaging. , storage and transportation.

IBC tanks are commonly used in the packaging, storage and transportation of liquid raw materials and products such as urea for vehicles, liquid fertilizers, organic silicon materials, antifreeze, and syrup. It can be loaded and stacked in three layers. It is commonly used in tank car sub-packaging and container transportation. It is a versatile and ideal liquid packaging container in modern society.

How to test IBC tank?

(1)Stacking test

Place the container on the ground of the school, apply a load of 4056KG on it, and place it at room temperature for 24 hours. There is no loss of the contents by visual inspection, and there is no permanent deformation of the IBC including the bottom pallet that endangers the safety of transportation.

(2)hydraulic test

Fill the IBC tank container with water until the pressure reaches 100KPa, keep it for 10 minutes, and the inner container will not break or leak.

(3)Vibration test

Pour 98% of water into the IBC tank and place it in the center of the vibrating table, adopt a vertical sinusoidal curve, double the amplitude of 25mm±5%, and the test frequency can allow a metal gasket with a thickness of 1.6mm and a thickness of 60mm to be inserted 100mm . After the test for 1 hour, the IBC is not damaged, and the key parts have no deformation or damage that affects safe use.

(4)drop test

The inner container is filled with refrigerated liquid not lower than 98% of the capacity, so that the temperature of the liquid in the container drops to -18°C, and the inner container of the IBC tank does not break or leak when dropped from a height of 1.9 meters.

Precautions for liquid dangerous goods storage

Liquid dangerous goods are generally flammable and explosive, so the storage and transportation of liquid dangerous goods need to be more careful. Then, what are the precautions for transporting liquid dangerous goods in IBC tank?

To ensure the airtightness of the anti-static IBC tank, the IBC tote must have a grounding device to prevent static electricity from accumulating.

The stacking of IBC tank should not be too large, and the wall distance, top distance, column distance and necessary fire prevention inspection aisles should be reserved, and fire and explosion prevention measures should be taken when storing tanks.
