The difference between steel drum and ordinary drum

Plastic barrel manufacturing raw materials are mainly polyethylene, PVC and performance requirements for two comprehensive consideration. Compared with steel, plastic material has the advantages of light weight, waterproof and moisture-proof, but its barrier, heat resistance and impact resistance are not as good as steel.
The manufacturing process of steel drums involves a wide range of technical fields. Usually the following procedures are required: sheet uncoiling leveling, welding edge treatment, barrel body welding, barrel body flanging, barrel body swelling, coil sealing assembly, barrel bottom cover forming and pre-winding, surface treatment, inner surface spraying and outer surface spraying.
Compared with steel drum, plastic drum body molding process is more simple. It can be made by injection molding or blow molding. Like ordinary plastic products, only need to go through plasticizing, injection molding, cooling solidification and demudding, can be completed bucket injection molding. Barrel cover is also made by injection molding. There are general cover and closed cover, the design of closed cover should take full account of the use of plastic elasticity. There is also a convenient injection molding ---- blow molding method for insert, which can be used to form the handle ring and the bucket body at one time. It does not need injection method to form L ring, and the integrated bucket has high sealing property and high bonding performance between handle and barrel body.
Due to the relatively complex forming process of steel drums, their production costs are much higher than plastic drums, in addition, steel drums are more likely to leak. In addition to the leakage at the mouth of the barrel, the welding seam of the barrel body and the coil sealing of the bottom of the barrel top are not good, will cause the same problems. Statistical data show that the parts and proportion of steel barrel leakage are roughly: curling and weld triangle area account for 85%; Barrel mouth barrel cover 10%; Barrel body weld 5%. And the plastic bucket because it is a molding, there is no seam barrel body, greatly reducing the chance of leakage.
The 200-litre plastic bucket was first introduced in China in 1988 and was initially questioned as a packaging for petroleum products. Later because plastic bucket also has certain advantage in this respect, for example can bear larger mechanical pressure, cleaning cost is low and can be reused. The market demand for it is increasing. The current annual demand for 200L plastic drums may be more than 1 million. In addition, in recent years popular a compound medium bulk container (IBC), commonly known as ton packaging plastic container, specifications are 820L, 1000L and 1250L, generally with steel frame and tray. Large capacity is its important characteristic. This is not currently achieved with steel barrels.
